Expectations for the Green Bay Packers are not particularly high heading into the 2023 NFL season.
Green Bay went just 8-9 a season ago and finished in third place in the NFC North.
Things looked even more bleak when the Packers traded away superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets following Rodgers requesting a trade.
But fear not, Green Bay fans. All hope is not lost.
Bookmakers place the Packers over/under for wins this season at just 7.5. And much of that rests on the shoulders of first-year starting quarterback Jordan Love.
The Packers selected Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Utah State. Most considered him as a long-term project and Green Bay allowed him to sit behind Rodgers for his first three seasons.
Love was up and down in limited action the past two seasons. He threw for 606 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions in 10 appearances, though made only one start.
However, some believed that he’s due for a big step forward in first year as a starter, especially after an impressive performance against the Philadelphia Eagles a year ago.
Love may well have confirmed those beliefs on Saturday night at the Packers Family Night scrimmage.

The event took place in front of a sold-out crowd at Lambeau Field, and Love did not disappoint.
Highlights posted by Twitter user @JuMosq showed Love completing all sorts of passes from a number of different arm angles. While he missed on a few throws, there was plenty for Packers fans to be excited about.
he might be able to play a little bit https://t.co/X6JLuwzyKp

– Jaire had Doubs locked down
– Musgrave is a freak

Love will get his first taste of live action on Friday when the Packers begin preseason play against the Bengals. He’ll then have a chance to make a strong regular season first impression when Green Bay heads to division rival Chicago to begin the regular season on Sept. 10.
