The Indianapolis Colts Have Proposed An Utterly Insane Rule Change And I Actually Don’t Hate It

The Indianapolis Colts think they have a great way to improve the NFL.

By allowing teams to “go for three” after a touchdown.

It’s an idea so Jim Irsay it just might work.

OK. Outside of lengthening an already long game, I’m all for it. If for no other reason than to give placekickers another chance to feel like they have some value.

But let me improve it just a bit with an addition of my own. If the try for the ninth point is missed, the opposing team should take over at midfield. You know, put some strategy in play when deciding if the risk is worth the reward.

We all know this proposal has no chance of getting approval from the Rules Committee.

It’s fun to dream, though.
