Jaguars star Travis Hunter went on a ride-along last week with Jacksonville, Florida, police officers, and things got very real when they made a drug bust. The wide receiver-slash-defensive back was accompanying Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters on patrol when a routine traffic stop escalated into a major drug bust.
During the patrol, Sheriff Waters received a call for help and brought Travis Hunter along to watch him deal with a car that was supposedly loaded with drugs. According to the police officer in the video, they discovered a variety of illicit substances in containers with false bottoms in the vehicle. The containers were filled with fentanyl, cocaine, meth, marijuana, and various pressed pills.
“They done caught a kingpin,” the two-way NFL star said after one of the officers listed off all of the drugs they found.
At least the suspect can say he was busted by an NFL star
“Imagine the police pulling up… and Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters steps out. And guess who is riding shotgun? Jacksonville Jaguars star Travis Hunter!” the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post.
“Travis Hunter and Sheriff Waters became fast friends after Hunter was drafted to the Jaguars in 2025. Hunter has taken an interest in law enforcement, and what better way to see what police work is like than with a ride with the Sheriff?
“Sheriff Waters recently showed Hunter parts of Jacksonville he had never seen before, and the pair responded to some calls. In this clip from their ride-along, they arrived after some of our officers found drugs a suspect was hiding during a traffic stop.
“We’re bummed there may be some time before the next Travis Hunter ride-along (Sheriff Waters promised him a trip in our helicopter), since Hunter has a busy fall schedule. We’ll be cheering him and the entire Jaguars team on all season long!”
