Washington fans are begging to get more touches for 2022 first round draft pick Jahan Dotson. The talented wide receiver has flashed his abilities on the field over his first 18 games in the NFL, racking up 52 catches for 663 yards.

This coming after an 1,182-yard senior season at Penn State.

After finding the endzone a team-leading seven times last year, he figured to be an integral part of the offense in Year 2.

Unfortunately, the production has fallen off a bit in 2023 despite landing six starts. Through those six contests, the pass catcher has tallied 17 receptions for 140 yards. He’s scored just one touchdown, a steep drop-off from what we saw the year prior.

He’s eclipsed the 30-yard mark just once this year, notching a 40-yard performance in the season opener. In the Commanders’ most recent outing versus the Falcons, Dotson was targeted just once, failing to tally a catch.

While Dotson isn’t hitting the panic button yet, fans are begging the staff to get him more involved.

Head coach Ron Rivera might’ve taken those pleas a bit too literally based on the scenes at practice this week.

Jahan Dotson was seen working with the special teams unit in Washington’s Week 7 preparations for the Giants. Hearing that might lead you to believe that meant reps as a return man, but you’d be wrong.

Instead, Dotson was spotted holding field goal attempts for kicker Joey Slye.

Fans: ‘This is ridiculous! Jahan Dotson needs to be more involved!’ Ron Rivera: ‘You’re absolutely right. Which is why we’re making him our new holder on field goals.’ Fantastic use of a 16th overall pick.”

They’re finally getting the ball to Jahan Dotson.”

This change could have MAJOR fantasy football implications.

Jahan Dotson finally going to breakout in my points per hold league.”

Fantasy managers stashing Jahan Dotson and waiting for him to step into his new role as holder… your time may finally be coming.”

Jokes aside, Dotson might be a solid option for your fantasy football teams this week. In his two meetings against the Giants’ defense last season, the receiver racked up nine catches for 159 yards and two scores.
