The immensely popular Undisputed boxing video game series announced today that Jake Paul would be added next week as a playable character through DLC. Undisputed was released on October 11th so it’s still a fledgling game but enough time has elapsed to start rolling out the big guns… Which I guess is Jake Paul.

On the PS5, Undisputed received a Metacritic score of 72/100 and it has already sold over 1 million copies. This is the first major boxing video game release since 2011 when Fight Night Champion dropped and the boxing world has changed immensely over the past decade plus with Jake Paul and Mike Tyson being not only the most-streamed fight of the year but the most-streamed fight *of all time*.

It is unclear how much Jake Paul is getting paid to appear in the game but Undisputed released a trailer of him with the announcement that his character will become unlock-able through DLC starting on December 12th via The Problem Child Pack.

With this game having already sold over 1 million copies, exceeding the predicted demand, it is an interesting move to roll out Jake Paul just two months after launch… Will this sell more games? Who knows. But with the timing just before the holidays this DLC is certain to juice the game developer’s earnings as December is the largest spending month of the year and it’s not even close.

On X, there was a mixed response from Boxing fans. One person wrote “Game was already not worth playing but now it’s getting deleted.” Another person commented “This is the only occasion where he’ll fight a legitimate boxer.”

For his part, Jake Paul has responded to the critiques of him only fighting old dudes with a meme today on X:

It is rumored Jake Paul made over $40 million from the Mike Tyson fight. Now Jake Paul is presumably getting paid beaucoup bucks to appear in Undisputed right before Christmas. If we’re strictly looking at earnings, he really is on top of the sport lately.
