Francis Ngannou made news recently after signing a massive deal with the PFL that will allow him to box and participate in MMA.

The heavyweight free agent finally has a landing spot and nobody is more excited than Jake Paul.

Paul became a part of PFL’s leadership group and seems extremely excited about Ngannou joining the organization. Here he is his message to the former UFC heavyweight champion.

Both Jake Paul and Francis Ngannou have similar deals with the PFL. They each have the opportunity to fight in MMA and boxing. Additionally, they’re each part of the leadership group for the organization.

Ngannou’s deal also names him the Chairman of PFL Africa in the hopes to grow the sport in that continent.

With the growing number of African fighters in the UFC, this seems like a fantastic idea for the PFL on paper.

But this is possibly a game-changing move for the Professional Fighters League, as they now have Jake Paul and Francis Ngannou as the faces of the organization.

Ngannou secures the bag he was hoping for, however, he’ll be fighting in a league that is deemed to have lesser opponent.

Regardless, people are going to tune into his fights. Same with Jake Paul, as he tends to pull a solid crowd as well.

These are the type of moves the PFL needs to make to garner more interest in the league.

However, it might be a while before we see either Jake Paul or Francis Ngannou in the cage.

According to MMA Junkie, “Ngannou’s deal will give him the flexibility to box, as he expects to make his in-ring debut later this year before returning to MMA in mid-2024.”

As for Paul, he’s supposed to participate in the PFL’s superweight division. But right now he’s set to take on Nate Diaz in the boxing ring. Even so, speculation is that Paul and Diaz will have an MMA bout after the boxing match.

With that said, things are surely looking up for the PFL. If the organization keeps making signings like this, perhaps they can become a competing MMA league with the UFC.
