New York has always been a Knicks city at heart. While the city is pretty evenly split between their two teams in other leagues, the Knicks have always come first, and that didn’t change when the Nets crossed the river from New Jersey into Brooklyn.

Finally, after decades of futility, the Knicks franchise is on the right track. They’ve made the playoffs three out of four years, and their game 6 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday guaranteed that they would make the 2nd round of the playoffs for the 2nd straight year for the first time in nearly 25 years.

Right now, New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson is the king of New York. The all-star point guard just finished off an incredible four-game stretch against the Philadelphia 76ers. After a slow first two games of the series, Brunson averaged just under 42 points per game in the last four games of the series, scoring 42 or more in all four contests.

It’s been a very long time since New York has seen a Knick go nuclear like this throughout the playoffs, and it has ignited the city.  In fact, his superstardom has found its way into other sports, with New York Mets third baseman Brett Baty using Brunson’s signature celebration after a base hit on Friday.

It truly is a Knicks town.
