Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts suffered a nasty-looking hand injury during the team’s game against the Giants.

In the second of the Eagles-Giants game, Hurts got hit in the hand while throwing the ball.

Hurts immediately went to the sideline and held up his finger that was bending the wrong way.

Eventually Hurts just put some tape on his hurt finger and returned to the game.

According to former NFL doctor David Chao, better known as Pro Football Doc, Hurts suffered an extensor tendon slip tear at the PIP joint on his right middle finger but should still be able to play while wearing a splint.

By video, hit right hand on a defender during a follow through on a pass – extensor tendon slip tear at the PIP joint on right middle finger – can be treated with splinting and will play with splint if he can grip and throw – index finger dominant grip gives him a better chance to play effectively.
