Former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe is one of the most polarizing players in the 2025 NFL Draft. He has some very obvious strengths and weaknesses that can make him appealing to some teams and off the board entirely f or some other teams.
But, Jalen Milroe may have given us a big hint on where he thinks he will go in the NFL Draft. The Texas native has decided to attend the 2025 NFL Draft, set to begin April 24.
Milroe needed a big season in 2024 to shoot up draft boards into the first round. But, his season was incredibly inconsistent. His early-season performance in a win over Georgia caused a ton of buzz, with some saying he had improved as a passer to go along with his sensational abilities as a runner. But, he struggled throwing the ball the rest of the season, throwing just 16 touchdowns against 11 interceptions for the Tide. Alabama missed the College Football Playoff after a late-season loss to a mediocre Oklahoma team put them on the outside looking in. He did not perform well in the Bowl Game, either, and his stock was pretty low coming out of the season.
But, he does have tools. He is not a good intermediate or short passer, and struggles to get through reads quickly. That being said, he might throw the best deep in the class, and has really great touch on those throws. Running-wise, he’s the best running quarterback prospect since Lamar Jackson. Milroe is more than just fast. He has vision, power, agility, and shiftiness. He is a legitimate problem to contain on the ground.
According to NFL Mock Draft Database, he’s the 45th-ranked prospect on the consensus board, which would have him coming off the board in the mid-second. But, he’s planning on attending the 2024 NFL Draft, starting on April 24 in Green Bay. To me,, that signals he could be hoing much higher than anticipated.

I highly doubt Milroe would accept an invitation to the draft to sit around in the Green Room until the late third roudn, or even into Day 3. This is a sign to me that his camp expects him to have a chance to be taken possibly in the 1st round, or at the very least, early in the 2nd round. The Pittsburgh Steelers, among others, have been linked to Milroe.
The quarterback situation in the 2025 NFL Draft is very intriguing once you get past Cam Ward, and this is just another example of that.
