It was a rough first half for the Denver Nuggets in Game 2 of their Western Conference Semifinals series  against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Jamal Murray and the defending champions were already down 1-0, and found themselves trailing at halftime, 61-35.

Frustration was clearly bubbling over in a few instance for the Nuggets. The most notable involved Jamal Murray and a heat pack.

The Nuggets were frequently upset with the officiating in the first half on Monday night. Michael Malone got into a heated argument early in the game with an official.

That bubbled over to his players, too. Watch the upper left corner of your screen here as Jamal Murray disagrees with a call on the bench and throws a heat pack on the floor during live action!

The officials didn’t catch it in real time, so no punishment was handed down. Had they caught him throwing the heat pack, he would’ve had received a technical foul, and possibly an ejection.

Twitter was instantly outraged at this.

Ultimately, this is a terrible look for Jamal Murray. Someone with as much playoff experience as he has should be dealing with adversity better than this.

Now, he’s put himself in jeopardy of being suspended for game 3. That would be a disaster.

It’s not like Murray is helping the Nuggets much right now, anyway. He was 3-18 for 8 points, and looked terrible on defense. Still, the Nuggets need him to play well, something he can’t do if he’s suspended.
