Bengals star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase expressed doubt during a media session about the health of quarterback Joe Burrow, who has been dealing with an ankle injury this season.

The comments came as the Bengals find themselves at 0-2 with Burrow under center, struggling to find their offensive rhythm.

When asked if he believed Burrow had been playing at 100% this season, Chase candidly replied, “I doubt it.”

Chase’s comments continued as he speculated on Burrow’s availability for the upcoming Week 3 matchup against the Rams, suggesting, “If I had to guess, I would say no.”

Chase’s concerns about Burrow’s health date back to the preseason when he urged the quarterback to prioritize his recovery over rushing back onto the field, saying not to play until Week 5.

This advice stemmed from Burrow’s calf muscle injury.

During the first two games of the season, the Bengals’ offense has struggled significantly, managing to score zero touchdowns in Week 1 and just two offensive touchdowns in Week 2.

It’s worth noting that the Bengals faced a similar 0-2 start last season but managed to turn their fortunes around, ultimately reaching the AFC Championship game.

Whether history will repeat itself this season remains to be seen, as the team grapples with the challenges of getting their star quarterback back to full strength.

The Cincinnati Bengals have yet to make an official statement regarding Joe Burrow’s status for the upcoming game against the Rams, leaving fans waiting for updates on the quarterback’s condition.
