Ja’Marr Chase was a little bit confused as to why the Chiefs were being overly aggressive toward him in particular during Sunday’s game. His confusion was baffling!

Chase gave Kansas City every reason to dislike him prior to the meeting of recent AFC rivals. The entire team and its fanbase was against him. It was completely warranted.

The 23-year-old pass-catcher was asked about the opposing secondary earlier in the week. Chase was not particularly kind or complimentary with his brutally honest comments.

He said that “if he was being honest,” there is “nothing” that stands out about the Chiefs secondary.

Somewhat ironically, Kansas City actually has its best defense in a very long time. If Andy Reid and company are going to make a run to the Super Bowl, it would be behind their defensive group.

Chase wasn’t worried.

They could take it how they (want to take it), I don’t care.

Although Cincinnati’s superstar wide receiver was mostly abrasive, he did give some praise to L’Jarius Sneed and called him “the best player on their team.” However, it was totally backhanded.

Chase said that Sneed only looks as good as he does because the rest of the defense is not on his level.

That’s why they double everybody, because they can’t do it one-on-one.

And then he fired the kill shot.

(The Chiefs) know I’m good. They know how to play us. That’s what it is, but it’s not like they got a superstar on their defense.

That was before the game.

Ja’Marr Chase put a target on his back.

The pregame comments did not go over well in Missouri. The Chiefs made a point to go after Ja’Marr Chase throughout all four quarters as they battled back from a 17-13 halftime deficit and kept the Bengals off of the scoreboard during the entire second half.

Chase caught three passes for 41 yards. Sneed was snide after the win.

We had some words during the game. But, you know, check the stats.

The words for which he is referring were exchanged during the second quarter. Cincinnati was winning at the time and driving. A scuffle that was not insignificant broke out between the two teams as a result.

Sneed and the Chiefs secondary ultimately got the last laugh with the win and the stat line. However, Chase continued to talk after the game.

Tee Higgins couldn’t hold back his laughter as his teammate spoke about his ability to get under the defense’s skin. He was geeked.

Chase said that Sneed is all bark, no bite. His trash talking, in his eyes, is unmatched.

Kansas City clinched a berth in the NFL playoffs with the win. Chase and Cincinnati will need to have the cards fall in their favor next weekend to do the same.
