‘Last Chance U’ Coach Jason Brown Said He’s Rejected Hundreds Of Recruits And Women Since Show Aired

Just when I thought it was impossible to match the hot-headedness of Buddy Stephens, the short-tempered head football coach of East Mississippi Community College and subject of seasons 1 and 2 of Netflix docu-series Last Chance U, Jason Brown came into my life.

And Jason Brown is a treasure, my friends. Just an absolute piece of gold.

The first year Independence (Kan.) Community College football coach is a loose cannon, to put it mildly. Hardened by the rough streets of Compton he grew up in and emboldened by his former status as a JUCO All-American quarterback, Brown proved to be an effective recruiter to acquire talented athletes in similar situations who helped turn around a program that had been historically dog shit for many years.

Brown, who in season 3 of Last Chance U, was often seen obsessing over his Cadillac, bragging about his beach house, and gloating about how coaching is overrated while sipping whiskey in his hot tub with a cigar in hanging from his mouth, was the architect behind a 9-2 season for Independence, a Jayhawk Conference title, and a bowl game win for the first time in school history.

The irony of his success is that Coach Brown was often portrayed as befuddled on the sidelines, using his lava-hot temper to mask the lack of understanding he had for the x’s and o’s of the game.

A proud snake oil salesman, Brown was able to bring in obscene talent like Florida State transfer quarterback Malik Henry, Texas Tech WR Carlos Thompson, Michigan RB Kingston Davis, and DT Emmitt Gooden, who will play at Tennessee in the fall.

Fake it till you make it, bruh.

And Brown has made it–so much so that his inbox is getting flooded with kids who want to play for him and women who want to get to know him on a personal level.

Brown made an appearance on TMZ Sports on Sunday and said this:

“We’ve had to turn down about 400 kids in the first weekend alone. I had about 5,000 emails in 24 hours.”

But that’s not the only perk from being on the show — Brown says he’s gotten A LOT of attention from female fans looking to get to know the coach on a personal level … though Brown says he’s playing hard to get.

Define “hard to get,” coach.

Lastly, if you are one of the hundreds of women that Jason Brown has rejected, please contact us.

We are dying to know A) how he let you down and B) what went wrong in your life that caused you to try to hook up with Jason Brown.

Matt’s love of writing was born during a sixth grade assembly when it was announced that his essay titled “Why Drugs Are Bad” had taken first prize in D.A.R.E.’s grade-wide contest. The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
