Uh Oh, Jason Day Might’ve Really Injured His Back At The WGC-Dell Match Play Championship

This doesn’t look good.

Just one weekend removed from going wire to wire for a pretty convincing win that netted him a cool $1.1 million at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Jason Day looked to be in a lot of discomfort after his tee shot on No. 16. during the first round of the WGC-Dell Match Play Championship on Wednesday.

Day, who earlier in the round drove a 370-yard Par 4, dropped his driver and immediately clutched his back following the tee shot on the Par 5 during his match against Graeme McDowell.

Clearly not something Day wants to be dealing with just two weeks removed from Augusta. Although, he is no stranger to playing through adversity, as many may remember the scary bouts of vertigo the Aussie experienced during last year’s US Open at Chambers Bay.

Here’s hoping the injury isn’t anything too serious, and can be resolved with a little R&R, because it would be a damn shame to see one of the world’s best unable to go come The Masters.

Speaking of Augusta, what are the chances this guy is let on the grounds?

Right. Zero.
