Jason Kelce is going to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame whenever he decides to hang it up. That has yet to happen.

Kelce is still trying to come to a conclusion on his future in the National Football League.

Despite what was reported after the Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Buccaneers in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, he is not retired. The 36-year-old continues to weigh the various factors at play before making an official declaration. His legendary career as one of the greatest centers of all-time is not over— yet.

Kelce made it abundantly clear that a return to the gridiron for the 2024 season is still very much in play during an appearance on ‘The Big Podcast with Shaq.’ He joined the four-time NBA champion and his co-host Adam Lefkoe while in Las Vegas for the Super Bowl.

Considering that Kelce was on a legendary bender that did not end until early Monday morning, it is very possible that he was extremely hungover for the conversation. Regardless of how he felt, his answer about retirement stayed consistent.

Jason Kelce is “still figuring it out.” Philadelphia’s season ended on Jan. 15. Focus immediately shifted toward supporting his brother. He has yet to look ahead.

I think if I still want to play, I’m going to play. I think right now we’re not far enough away from the last game. It’s emotional, it’s a long season, the end of the season quite frankly, awful. So I’m just going to take some time, rest, recoup and then figure it out […]

Kelce is not going to rush to a decision. However, he does not think that it will drag out long into the offseason.

I’ll have an answer in the next couple weeks.

Although the Eagles would welcome him back, they have a plan in place for whenever Kelce does choose to retire. Cam Jurgens was drafted as his successor per his recommendation.

The clock is ticking. Kelce put a timeline on his decision and the NFL world (and Swifties?) anxiously await his decision. Whenever he does choose to retire, it will mark the end of one of the greatest offensive line careers in history.
