Jayden Daniels appears to be deflecting blame after a late-game blunder.
On Sunday, the Commanders were in field goal range with 12 seconds left and no timeouts. Unfortunately, Daniels ran the ball, and the clock ran out before the team realized they needed to spike it to stop the clock for a game-winning field-goal attempt in overtime.
🚨🚨BREAKING🚨🚨
#COMMANDERS QB JAYDEN DANIELS JUST MADE ONE OF THE WORST PLAYS YOU WILL EVER SEE.
WASHINGTON WAS IN FIELD GOAL RANGE WITH ZERO TIMEOUTS, AND DANIELS WENT DOWN INBOUNDS.
THE CLOCK RAN OUT.
THE COMMANDERS WALKED AWAY WITH ZERO POINTS 😳 https://t.co/r4pnUM9QMr

While speaking with the media, Daniels appeared to throw his coaches under the bus over the play call.
“We gotta relay that as a offense, it starts from everybody top down. Ultimately, it’s on me.”
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn took responsibility for putting Daniels in a bad position.
“Yeah, just like the sequencing — that does not fall on (Jayden Daniels). It’s an outside throw or a clock. You know, those are the two (options).”
Later added: “I don’t have to put him into that spot.”

Daneils was criticized by fans over his comment.
This is kinda wild. Coaching staff should be reminding the QB of the situation there but you’re the QB. Had all the time in the world to check the scoreboard for clock and timeout numbers before the play. Passing the buck up the chain sucks.

You can’t just casually throw the “top down” blame in there. Yikes!
