During a sixth inning at-bat, Chisholm checked his swing on a pitch in the dirt. The man behind the dish ruled it a swinging strike, which ended the inning.

Chisholm disagreed with the ruling. He believes the umpire should’ve asked for help from a crew member. It was close, but replay appears to confirm the call was made correctly. The bat broke the plane ever-so-slightly.

Chisholm was dumbfounded by the ruling, and he let the blue hear about it. It did not change the umpire’s mind. Instead, it earned the second baseman a quick trip to the clubhouse.

POV footage from the ump cam provided an up-close angle of the interaction. It further displayed Chisholm’s displeasure.

Jazz Chisholm is a meme.

Viewers quickly took screenshots of the infielder’s argument with the umpire and posted them to social media. The response has been hysterical.

Jazz Chisholm got face to face with the official, which eventually led to his ejection. Arguing balls and strikes is a no-no.

Former Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo called the reaction “immature.” It put the team in a tough spot by having to substitute a cold bench player.

Chisholm did have a case in the argument. Regardless of whether or not the call was made correctly, an appeal probably should’ve been made. The umpire at third base had a better look. The home plate blue overruled.

Still, it resulted in an all-time meme worthy moment, which was a win for social media users.

Who did it better?

Patiently waiting…

Jazz Chisholm is one of the more polarizing players in the sport. His on-field antics have drawn the ire of baseball viewers.

Earlier this year, he annoyed MLB fans by eating candy during live action. Last season, he sparked a beef with Royals infielder Mikel Garcia after a hard tag.

Fans believe Chisholm seeks attention. He got it on Sunday. With their leadoff hitter out of the lineup for the final three innings, the Yankees fell to their rival in walk off fashion, 5-4.
