Ryan Clark got together with Jemele Hill not long after his dismissal from ESPN
Former ESPN personality and SportsCenter anchor Jemele Hill never misses an opportunity to wade into the discourse. On Monday, Hill shared a selfie alongside recently canned ESPN analyst Ryan Clark and made sure to further troll her haters with the caption.
Less than a week after his highly-publicized laying-off — although he disputes that narrative and says he was fired — from ESPN, Ryan Clark was out to dinner with fellow former ESPN employee Jemele Hill (and presumably others) at the Spicy Mango restaurant in New Orleans.

Hill posted a selfie alongside Clark and captioned the photo “proof of life” while sarcastically — yet intentionally provocatively — describing the pair as “two of America’s favorite race baiters.”
The latter portion of Hill’s caption is a shot at the pair’s detractors, who claim that Clark and Hill often go out of their way to turn discussions about sports into race.

Hill was famously pushed out of ESPN in 2018 following tweets calling President Trump a “white supremacist” and encouraging fans of the Dallas Cowboys to boycott the team’s sponsors after owner Jerry Jones threatened to bench players who kneeled during the national anthem.
Clark was let go last week in what ESPN described as a broader cost-cutting round of layoffs, though his departure came after a string of public controversies and apologies: in the span of roughly three months in the Fall of 2025, he was forced to issue three separate public apologies.
“Let me put this to bed, I wasn’t laid off. I was fired They’re using lay-offs as a cover and a camouflage for what they already intended on doing,” Clark said on his podcast, The Pivot.
“But there was no cause for it. So, because there was no cause for it, you couldn’t just fire me, so you had to wait for the lay-offs so you could camouflage it and veil it.”
In addition to Clark, on-air ESPN talents such as Karl Ravech, Cam Newton, Tom Pelissero, Stephania Bell, David Lloyd, Bart Scott, and more were also let go.
