While most professional baseball players likely ignore the ceremonial first pitch given how often they’ve experienced it over the course of their careers, that was certainly not the case over the weekend during the Los Angeles Dodgers preseason game in Seoul, South Korea.

Participating in the 2024 Seoul Series as part of their Spring Training, the Dodgers were in Seoul on Sunday, March 17 for a matchup against the Kiwoom Heroes at the Gocheok Sky Dome, which the Dodgers ultimately won by a score of 14-3.

Prior to the game, South Korean actress Jeon Jong-seo threw out the first pitch, and the entire Dodgers bench was locked in, to say the least. So locked in, in fact, that it caught the attention of social media, both in the United States and South Korea.

“Dugout h—y levels redlining dangerously,” said one viral tweet that’s racked up over 3.2 million views.

Some people even think that one Dodgers player said “Holy f—“ after watching Jong-seo’s skills on the mound.

Jeon Jong-seo, 29 years old, is best known for her work in South Korean films such as Burning, The Call, Nothing Serious, Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon (her English language debut), and Ballerina.

She also has experience on television, having starred in Wedding Impossible and the Netflix series Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area.

As for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who added Japanese superstar Shohei Ohtani to their roster this offseason, they enter the 2024 MLB season as the betting favorites to win both the National League and the World Series. Other betting favorites include the Atlanta Braves, Houston Astros, New York Yankees, Texas Rangers (the defending World Series champions), and the Baltimore Orioles.

The Dodgers 2024 season will begin on Thursday, March 28 with a home matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals. Tyler Glasnow, whom they also acquired during the offseason, is projected to be the team’s opening-day starter.
