If we were to give this guy the benefit of the doubt and assume he misheard the question and mixed up the NBA and NHL he’d still be ridiculously wrong in his answer. Magic Johnson led the NBA in Assists during 4 seasons, followed by 9 consecutive seasons of John Stockton leading the league in Assists from 1987-1996.
Wayne Gretzky is the all-time NHL Assists leader and he has 714 more career assists than Ron Francis in 2nd place. The Great One has more assists than any other NHL player even has career points. How the hell you mix up Wayne Gretzky’s 11 seasons with 100+ Assists and Magic Johnson is almost unfathomable, but here we are.
