by 2 years ago

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has apologized Friday after a 2013 video of him making an off-color joke was released this afternoon by Gossip site, The Blast.

According to The Blast, the video was shot at the Warwick Melrose Dallas hotel by a white man who asked Jones if he would tape a message to his fiancée.

Jones went on to reply with this joke

“Hey, Jennifer, congratulations on the wedding,” Jones said. “Now, you know he’s with a black girl tonight, don’t you?”

Jones quickly apologized for the comment through a statement delivered by the Cowboys.

“That comment was inappropriate,” he said. “It’s not who I am, and I’m sorry.”

According to the gossip site, the person leaked video did it “because he thought the current temperature of race in the NFL and the country made Jones’ comments relevant.”

The Jones video comes hours after it was revealed that the Cowboys owner had used some NSFW language to threaten Roger Goodell after the suspension of Ezekiel Elliot.

Finally, according to sources with direct knowledge of the call, Jones broke the silence. He aimed his words not only at Goodell’s decision but also at his role as judge, jury and executioner in the case.

“I’m gonna come after you with everything I have,” Jones said. Then he mentioned Deflategate. “If you think Bob Kraft came after you hard, Bob Kraft is a pussy compared to what I’m going to do.”

It’s been a rough day for Jones who has been at war with seemingly everyone for the past few weeks.
