Not only did the New York Jets’ win over the Denver Broncos keep their season afloat, but it also gave the team a chance to dance on the grave of Sean Payton.

Earlier this year, Sean Payton made some disrespectful comments about Hackett, who was the Broncos’ head coach last season and was fired before the end of the year.

Payton’s comments prompted a response from Jets QB Aaron Rodgers, who came to the defense of Hackett. Ever since, both games have likely had this matchup circled on their calendars, and in the end, the Jets came away with the win.

Following the victory, the Jets celebrated in the locker room by giving the game ball to Hackett, who coached the Jets to their highest point total of the season so far against the Broncos with 31.

“How about [the] offense, 234 yards rushing?! 177 from Breece [Hall],” head coach Robert Saleh says to the team. “There’s a lot of good things we can talk about in regards to these stats but I’ve got one game ball… Hack!”

“I want you guys to know it’s an honor to be with you guys, watching that defense go out there, sack him [Russell Wilson], get turnovers. It’s absolutely beautiful. Watching this offense run the f—— ball?! Hey, this is only the beginning, we can all get better, myself included. I just appreciate all of y’all, man!” Hackett then says while addressing the locker room.

The Jets’ social media team also got in on the fun as they used an image of Kevin James playing Payton in the awful Netflix movie Home Team to troll the former New Orleans Saints head coach.

The win was a crucial one for the Jets as it brings their record to 2-3 ahead of what will surely be a tough Week 6 matchup at home against the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles.
