Former Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Todd Downing has been coaching in the NFL since 2005.

He was fired by Tennessee’s head coach Mike Vrabel in early January after the Titans failed to score 28 points in a single game and the offense averaged below 20 points per game (ranked 28th in the league at 17.5ppg).

There was also the DUI… Todd Downing was arrested for a DUI last year after Tennessee beat Green Bay 27-17 on Thursday Night Football on November 17th.

Todd Downing would later serve 48 hours in jail for the DUI arrest. And now TMZ has obtained footage of Downing’s arrest.

The officer who pulls Downing over can be heard describing Downing at driving over 100 MPH. Downing would later tell the officer he received a death threat that night and was hurrying home to his family.

Todd Downing would then admit to the officer that he had a ‘victory beer’ after the Thursday Night Football win over Green Bay. He then asked the officer for ‘grace’.

Downing never faced disciplinary action from the Tennessee Titans over his November arrest.

He was, however, fired for the low-scoring offense results in January before being hired by the New York Jets as their new Passing Coordinator.

That’s a job that could look great on an NFL coaching resume if Aaron Rodgers eventually moves to the Jets and the team’s passing game explodes.

The latest reports suggest a Jets trade for Aaron Rodgers could be coming any day. The Packers are seeking to get their fair share of the trade while Aaron appears to have made his mind up months ago on the move.
