The New York Jets lost their seventh out of their last eight games on Sunday, this time falling at home to Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks. After the loss, a few key members of the Jets squad took to social media to publicly call out the refs.

Clearly frustrated by some calls made during the game, New York Jets’ starting cornerback D.J. Reed took to social media to call out the NFL’s officiating.

Not only did Reed express frustration with the refereeing in the Jets’ home loss to the Seahawks but he also declared that the officials should be “ashamed” of themselves.

“@NFLOfficiating you F—— suck, yall should be ashamed of yall selves!” Reed tweeted on Sunday afternoon after the Jets loss to the Seahawks dropped their record to 3-9.

Jets’ star wide receiver Garrett Wilson — who had just five catches for 41 yards against the Seahawks, further evidence of Aaron Rodgers’ unwillingness to throw downfield — seemed to have Reed’s back as he replied to his tweet with an apparent message of support.

D.J. Reed, 28 years old, was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the 5th round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He established himself as a starting caliber cornerback in the NFL with the Seahawks in 2020 and 2021 before signing a 3-year, $33 million deal with the Jets in March 2022.

Unfortunately for Gang Green, despite the miserable disaster that the 2024 season (which actually began with Super Bowl expectations) has become, the team still has five games left to play this season against the Miami Dolphins (twice), Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, and Buffalo Bills.

Following the conclusion of the season, having already fired head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas, the Jets will likely be in the market quarterback, too, as the Aaron Rodgers experiment has gone up in flames without ever really taking off the ground.
