Despite all of the self-generated controversy that currently surrounds him, the New York Jets franchise is still reportedly all-in on Aaron Rodgers from top to bottom.

According to a recent report from the New York Post, while Rodgers’ recent appearances on The Pat McAfee Show have created tons of national headlines, they are “not a hot topic” within the organization.

“From speaking to people inside the organization on the topic several times, the sense around the Jets is that none of what Rodgers says on McAfee has an effect on the team or the organization,” reported Brian Costello of the New York Post.

“Inside the team, there are those who applaud Rodgers for having the guts to challenge the mainstream media. There are plenty of people who agree with his view on COVID and vaccines but would never say so publicly out of fear of the backlash,” he says.

“As for Rodgers’ teammates, most of them don’t even know who Kimmel is or pay attention to what Rodgers says.”

It certainly shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Jets have no issues with Rodgers’ appearances on The Pat McAfee Show, as they have already virtually handed him the keys to the franchise.

Earlier this week, after doing his usual weekly rant on Tuesday, Pat McAfee announced on Wednesday that Rodgers wouldn’t return to the show for the rest of the season. Just a day later, however, Rodgers returned to the program in a clear troll job by the pair.

While that’s the case now, with the potential of Rodgers remaining hypothetical, it’ll be interesting to see if the Jets stand by his outspoken ways if they underperform next season with the 40-year-old back in the starting line-up.

Despite tearing his Achilles after just four snaps this season, Rodgers hopes to suit up for Gang Green beyond just the 2024 season.
