It seems like the heat is on for Zach Wilson as he steps onto the field tonight against the Chiefs.

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports that his time as the starter might be running out.

Multiple sources within the Jets organization tell Dianna that there’s a growing sentiment that “something needs to change, or it’s going to cost jobs.”, that doesn’t sound too promising.

Wilson, the 2nd overall in the 2021 Draft, has been struggling with four interceptions and just two touchdowns this season. Not exactly the kind of stats that’ll get you a ticket to the Pro Bowl.

He got his chance to shine after Aaron Rodgers got sidelined in Week 1, but it seems like he’s not quite cutting it.

And it’s not just Wilson feeling the heat. Dianna also mentioned that owner Woody Johnson didn’t offer any guarantees about the job security of general maanger Joe Douglas and coach Robert Saleh, both before and after Rodgers went down.

The Jets haven’t even looked into trading for Vikings Kirk Cousins or Titans Ryan Tannehill, according to the report. So, there’s still some uncertainty in the air about how they plan to handle this quarterback situation.

The team is waiting to see if Zach Wilson can turn things around tonight against the Chiefs.

The stakes are high, and the pressure is on.
