When Jim Boeheim retires, he will go down as one of the greatest college basketball coaches of all time. He has over 1000 career wins and 34 NCAA Tournament appearances, all at Syracuse.
Boeheim even brought a national title to Central New York in 2003, when Carmelo Anthony, Hakim Warrick, and Gerry McNamara led Syracuse to a title. And, they’ve been to five final fours since Boeheim took over in 1976.
But, the program has taken a step back recently. The program hasn’t advanced past the sweet sixteen since 2013, and they missed the tournament altogether last year. This year, they sit at 14-10 and look to be in a position to miss the tournament again.
But, as always, it’s never Boeheim’s fault. The notorious whiner decided to blame NIL for his program’s shortcomings.

The quote reads, in full:
“This is an awful place we’re in in college basketball,” he said. “Pittsburgh bought a team. OK, fine. My [big donor] talks about it, but he doesn’t give anyone any money. Nothing. Not one guy. Our guys make like $20,000. Wake Forest bought a team. Miami bought a team. … It’s like, ‘Really, this is where we are?’ That’s really where we are, and it’s only going to get worse.”
But, former Pitt star and assistant coach and current Rutgers assistant coach Brandin Knight called Boeheim out in a big way.
Pitt great, Rutgers assistant Brandin Knight on Boeheim charges "Sounds like sour grapes. Next time ask Jim Boeheim how many teams he bought before NIL was legal. Don’t throw stones in glass house. Remember you’ve been coaching a lot of years and a lot of us know who got paid.”

It's just so Boeheim. He whines and complains constantly, especially with the press.

Jim Boeheim officially kicked over a hornet's nest last night.
A lot of people, have had a lot of dirt for a long time (decades, really), and have kept their mouth's shut.
There's blood in the water.
And I don't think people will stay quiet much longer 👀👀 https://t.co/xdE0GA0wmw

I’m sure Boeheim will complain about this, too.
