Jim Harbaugh is a Ted Lasso fan, at least judging by comments made at his most recent press conference. The Michigan head coach stole a line from the show to describe his team’s locker room during a time of uncertainty.

Harbaugh is currently serving out a three-game suspension due to the sign stealing scandal that swept through Ann Arbor. He’s already missed matchups against Penn State and Maryland, leaving just the season finale versus Ohio State before his time away from the sidelines is up.

(At least for now).

It’s actually Harbaugh’s second suspension of the year as he missed the Wolverines’ first three games due to recruiting violations. It doesn’t seem to be bothering him or his players, though.

Michigan has rolled through every opponent this year, with or without their coach on the bench. And Harbaugh hasn’t lost his sense of humor, which he put on display this week.

While talking with the media about the current state of the program, he noted that his team continues to play as one.

“With all the outside noise, our locker room’s in one piece,” Harbaugh said. “Locker room is a lot like my mom’s bathing suits; like to see them in one piece.”

Now, if that line sounds familiar, there’s a reason.

Jim Harbaugh swiped it from Season 1 (episode 4) of Ted Lasso.

In an episode titled, “For the Children,” Jason Sudeikis’s character uses this quote word for word to describe what he wants to see in his own team facility.

Michigan will look to keep that strong bond this weekend against Ohio State in hopes of making its third straight trip to the College Football Playoff.

They’ll have to do so without Jim Harbaugh in attendance, but maybe these words of wisdom can keep the team together on the field.
