Jim Nantz Makes Hilariously Inappropriate Blunder While Talking About A ‘Game Of Runs’ (Video)

Jim Nantz is one of the best to ever do it. However, even the greatest make mistakes sometimes.

That was certainly the case on Saturday and it made for a hilariously inappropriate moment. It was unintentional, but it was chuckle-inducing nonetheless.

During the Big 10 Men’s Basketball Tournament Semifinal between Iowa and Indiana, neither team could get out in front of the other and stay there. It was a back-and-forth battle through the entire game and when one team got out to a big lead, the other would come storming right back.

As is common place in the sport’s terminology, Nantz was describing the tug-of-war matchup as a “game of runs.” That, of course, means that basketball is game in which one team gets hot and scores a lot while the other does not, and then the roles reverse. A game of runs.

It does not mean a game of runs as in “the runs,” as in liquid bowel movements also known as diarrhea. You might not know that based on Nantz’ accidental misspeak.

As Nantz proceeded to take the action to a commercial break, he said that Indiana was “hot to start” and accidentally said that the Hawkeyes “sharted” their dead-eye shooting. He meant to say started, but he very much did not.

Take a listen:

For Nantz to slip-up and say “sharted” at all is funny. But for him to say it after discussing “runs” makes it an unfortunately-timed blunder that is sure to make you laugh. It’s the little things in life.
