With Joe Burrow in line to become the highest-paid quarterback, and therefore player, in the NFL, the 26-year-old is wisely trying to expand his portfolio and grow his assets.

And according to reports, the Bengals quarterback has his sights, and wallet, set on a professional women’s sports league, but perhaps not the one you think.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, pop star Jason Derulo revealed that he and Burrow have invested in an Omaha-based franchise in the Pro Volleyball Federation.

“I’m excited because volleyball is on a crazy trajectory,” Derulo said. “”It’s on the way up and to be a small part in what these ladies created is pretty incredible to me. I think it’s gonna change sports forever.”

The league, PVF, will launch in February 2024, and they plan to play across the country in some of the biggest arenas.Volleyball’s huge in the Cornhusker state. In fact, since 2013, the University of Nebraska’s squad has led the nation in attendance, even setting a record last year when nearly 16K fans packed their arena to watch a match. [via TMZ Sports]

At this time, the size and nature of Burrow’s investment in the Professfional Volleyball Federation’s Omaha franchise is unclear, as he’s yet to publicly comment on the apparent deal.

During his three seasons in the NFL, Burrow has completed 68% of his passes for 11,774 yards, 82 touchdowns, and 31 interceptions.
