Joey Franchise, Jackpot Joey, Joe Shiesty, Joe Brrrr— whatever you want to call him, Joe Burrow has ice in his veins. The 25-year-old Bengals quarterback burst onto the scene in his rookie season, but has made people very aware of his presence in Year 2.

Cincinnati finished the regular season at 10-7 and won the AFC North. Not many people (outside of Kay Adams) expected Burrow and the Bengals to make a big run, and most people expected them to lose to the Titans in the Divisional Round if they were able to get there by beating the Raiders. Almost nobody expected them to beat the Chiefs if they somehow pulled off wins in the first two rounds.

Well, sure enough, Burrow and the Bengals did exactly that. Cincinnati beat Las Vegas, beat Tennessee and beat Kansas City— and the latter two came on the road.

As a result, Burrow will be playing in the Super Bowl on Sunday in only his second season. But he almost didn’t get that chance.

The Bengals fell behind 21-3 early in the second quarter and an 18-point lead seemed insurmountable.

Obviously, it wasn’t.

Cincinnati battled its way back with 18 unanswered points and tied the game with just seconds left in the third quarter. A new mic’d up video from NFL Films shows that Burrow’s confidence never wavered.

Right before throwing a touchdown to his former LSU teammate Ja’Marr Chase to cut the deficit to two points, he talked to his team in the huddle. He told them that when they were to score, they were going for two to tie things up.

Sure enough, that’s exactly what happened. Burrow has ice in his veins.

After tying the game at 21, the Bengals won the game in overtime. Joe Shiesty was on full display during the AFC Championship and will try to keep the momentum and swagger rolling into the NFL’s biggest stage on Sunday.
