‘It’s So America’ Joe Rogan Shares His Thoughts On Upcoming UFC White House Event

USA Today

Joe Rogan has shared his latest thoughts on the UFC White House event.

When the idea of the UFC holding an event on the South Lawn of the White House was first introduced, Rogan said he didn’t feel comfortable with it.

The longtime UFC commentator also voiced his concerns over holding the event outdoors.

“The White House thing is odd. I don’t like it,” Rogan said on his podcast. “I don’t like the idea of fighting outside at all.”

“I just don’t think that you should compete in a world championship fight in a non-controlled environment.”

With the event less than two weeks away, Rogan seems to have changed course, and now feels better about the idea of the UFC holding a fight card at the White House.

“It’s so funny watching people lose their minds over it, you know, in all sorts of different ways,” he said.

“Lose their mind over it because they hate the political situation in this country. Lose their mind over it because they feel like it’s a waste of money. ‘Why they spending so much money? This country’s in debt. We’ve got problems. Why are we having a fight?’ And then other people are like, ‘F-ck yeah.’

“I mean, there’s no more American thing than having a UFC fight on the White House lawn. It’s so America. It’s so Trump. It’s so crazy. You know what I mean? A UFC fight on the White House lawn is bananas.”

While Rogan does approve of Trump wanting to host an event on the White House lawn, he does not approve Trump’s war on Iran.

“However, I should say, however, it’s going to be a spectacle,” he added. “Whether I was there or not, I would be watching, 100%. I think it’s awesome that Trump, this is one of the things that I like about him, he’s like, ‘F–k it. Let’s do it.’ He puts on cage fights on the White House lawn. That’s nuts.”

“He does wild s–t. I like that. I like that part. I don’t like the Iran war thing, but I like that.”
