Every single week, Kentucky head coach John Calipari hosts a live radio show. And every single week, on the live radio show, Calipari takes calls from fans.

This week, however, Calipari will not.

The decision comes after the 2-seeded Wildcats were upset by the 15-seeded St. Peter’s Peacocks. When you look at the numbers behind the loss and the salary gap between the two schools, the upset becomes astronomically large.

Kentucky never should have lost that game. But it did.

And now, four days later, Calipari is not taking calls on his podcast like he has every other week. The school claims that the decision not to take calls has nothing to do with the loss.

Instead, Kentucky Sports Network’s official Twitter account says that it is because Coach Cal will be out on the road recruiting. They are asking for fans to tweet in their questions instead.

Regardless of the reason for the decision, the show will be prerecorded which means that the hosts can filter questions. Typically, in every week prior, the usual format sees Calipari answer to whatever the live callers have to say.

Not this week.

Coincidence? Perhaps. Is Calipari really on the recruiting trail? Very possibly. Does it seem like awfully suspicious timing for the one show without live callers? Yup.

Of course, because of how fishy things smell, very few people on Twitter believe that Calipari could not take live questions on the show. They think that he is ducking them after the upset loss.

Here are some of the responses to Coach John Calipari’s decision not to take live callers on his final radio show of the year:
