Jon Jones continues to insist that he’s not interested in fighting Tom Aspinall. For nearly two years, Aspinall has carried around the Interim title tag while waiting to fight Jones.

An annoyed Aspinall told ESPN that he believes Jones is retired and is eager to move on with the division.

“Jon Jones is retired,” Aspinall said. “I want to say God bless him moving forward in what he does with his life and career. We move on. I’m the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. I’m ready to take on all comers and get this division moving again.”

Earlier this week, UFC CEO Dana White told Jim Rome that he was giving Jones a couple of weeks to make a decision on whether he wants to come back and face Aspinall.

During a recent interview on the Full Send podcast, Jones admitted that he isn’t interested in fighting Aspinall because Aspinall doesn’t ‘excite” him.

“I think he’s awesome man. I think he should go on and have a wonderful career.

He’s not in a position to excite me. If I whoop his ass, it’s gonna be a whole new fanbase of somebody who everybody believes in.”

Jones went on to admit that he’s currently not interested in fighting again.

“Right now, I could really care less about fighting…”

“When the itch comes back, if it comes back, then I’ll do it with my whole heart.”

It’s unclear if Jones will return to fight Aspinall, but it seems like UFC fans are fed up with his antics.
