Jonathan Taylor’s Boneheaded Fumble Against The Broncos Cost One Bettor A Huge Parlay

Dropping the ball before crossing the goal line has become an epidemic of sorts in the NFL in recent years. For some reason, ball carriers have forgotten that you need to have possession of the ball when entering the end zone for it to count as a touchdown.

The latest victim of his epidemic was Indianapolis Colts superstar running back Jonathan Taylor, who seems like an odd case considering he has 50 career touchdowns in the NFL, including a league-high 18 rushing touchdowns in 2021. You’d think if anybody would understand how this would work, it would be Taylor.

Alas…

Now, Taylor’s fumble did prove costly. A touchdown would have tied the game at 13-13 with a chance to take the lead. Instead, the Colts floundered en route to a 31-13 loss in what was essentially a must-win game for their playoff hopes. But somehow neither Indianapolis nor Taylor were the biggest losers in the whole order.

That honor goes to Jeff Cucinell.

Sports Bettor Misses Out On Parlay Thanks To Jonathan Taylor’s Fumble

Who is Jeff Cucinell? We’re glad you asked! Cucinell is the unlucky dude who played $9.75 on a seemingly unlikely 10-leg parlay that would have payed out nearly $5K if it had hit. But seemingly unlikely does not mean impossible! As the day went on, Cucinell so more and more of the legs begin to hit.

And then Taylor showed up…

Nine out of the 10 legs in Cucinell’s parlay wound up hitting. The only one that didn’t? Jonathan Taylor anytime touchdown scorer.

Now that is a bad beat.

But hey, that’s why they call it gambling. And that’s why parlays are so darn difficult to hit. But we hope Cucinell didn’t hit “pay now” on any of those big holiday purchases he was likely about to make.
