Jonathan Vilma Says Dak Prescott Is Not A Top 10 QB In The League Right Now, Which Is Wrong

920 yards. 10 touchdowns. Two interceptions. Currently leads the NFL in completion percentage (74.5%) and Total QBR (94.0) after the first three weeks.

And Dak Prescott isn’t in the top third of quarterbacks in the league, says former NFL linebacker Jonathan Vilma, who I guess is smoking crystal meth?

Appearing on Friday’s episode of First Take, Vilma did the impossible by saying something so outlandish that to Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman agreed on something.

He started by saying bluntly, “Dak Prescott is not one of the top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL right now. He’s a very good quarterback, but when he is the reason you have to win, it’s not going to happen.”

“The first thing you still have to do is stop Ezekiel Elliott. That’s one,” Vilma opened. “After you do that, all you need to do is roll your coverages. You start rolling your coverages and make him pump the ball — he’s done. He’s gonna start taking off and running the ball. He’s not a Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Philip Rivers that’s gonna sit there and say, ‘I don’t care what you’re throwing at me, I’m gonna make the throws.’”

Throw this take in the garbage with the ‘Tom Brady is a system quarterback’ takes.

Matt’s love of writing was born during a sixth grade assembly when it was announced that his essay titled “Why Drugs Are Bad” had taken first prize in D.A.R.E.’s grade-wide contest. The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
