If Packers fans didn’t believe before Sunday’s upset of the Dallas Cowboys, they certainly should now: Jordan Love seems to be a worthy heir apparent to Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers.

Not only did the 25-year-old first-year starter lead Green Bay to an upset win over the Cowboys but he posted a passer rating of 157.2, which is almost a perfect rating, and put up a Total QBR of 99.3, making him the first player to post a 99 QBR in a playoff game since ESPN launched the metric in 2006.

In addition to the underlying data, Love also passed the eye test as he made some throws that looked almost identical to the ones that Favre and Rodgers used to make, which left some football fans on Twitter stunned.

In the win over the Cowboys, Love completed 16 of 21 passes for 272 yards, three touchdowns, and no turnovers. The Packers were also propelled by running back Aaron Jones, who had 21 carries for 21 carries for 118 yards and three touchdowns.

Man, Jordan Love, wow. That’s about all I can say is ‘wow,'” Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said to reporters after the game.

“What he did and the poise he shows, the command he shows… It just shows the growth that he’s had from his first start vs. Kansas City [in 2021] to now. Just so proud and happy for him. He’s a dude. He is a real dude.”

With their win over Dallas, Green Bay has advanced to the NFC Divisional round and will take on the #1 seed San Francisco 49ers in California on Saturday, January 20 at 8:15 p.m. EST. The Niners have opened as 10-point favorites over Love and the Packers.

On the other side of the NFC playoff bracket, thanks to the Packers knocking out the #2 seeded Cowboys, the Detroit Lions will be hosting the winner of Monday night’s Wild Card game between the Tampa Bay Bucs and Philadelphia Eagles.
