Speaking to reporters over the weekend, Golden State Warriors guard Jordan Poole — fresh off of signing a new 4-year, $140 million extension with the franchise — addressed being sucker punched by Draymond Green, the Shrek of the NBA, for the first time.

The 32-year-old Green — who boasts career averages of 8.7 points, 5.4 assists, and 6.9 rebounds per game to go along with his four NBA titles and an NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award — punched Poole during practice on October 5.

Jordan Poole has publicly addressed being punched by Draymond Green for the first time and said Draymond apologized

“The Draymond situation: he apologized and we plan on handling ourselves that way,” Poole told reporters over the weekend.

“We’re here to play basketball, and everybody in the locker room and on our team knows what it takes to win a championship. And we’re going to do that on the court. That’s really all I have to say on the matter. We’re here to win a championship and keep hanging banners,” he said.

Poole, Green, Steph Curry, and the rest of the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors will begin their 2022 season on Tuesday Night against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.

As things currently stand, the Golden State Warriors are one of the top two favorites to win the NBA title alongside the Boston Celtics, who they beat in the NBA Finals last year. In addition to those two teams, Las Vegas oddsmakers expect the Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Brooklyn Nets — despite all of the neverending drama surrounding Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons — to contend for this season’s Larry O’Brien Trophy.
