Trick shots. Everyone’s got em. Even the #3 player in the world, Jordan Spieth.
What I enjoy about Spieth’s trick shot — other than the fact that he was forced to do it in front of an audience and that he didn’t take 1000 unaired takes to pull it off — was the fact that he didn’t act like he was too cool for the moment. Sure, he stumbled all over the place and did a kindergarten-level backflip while trying to celebrate, but his excitement was genuine. People who make hole-in-ones are less excited than he was to be eating a marshmallow that he flop-shotted into his own facehole. That’s why we root for guys like Jordan.
