Jordan Spieth has some bizarre-looking hands. His fingers are extremely calloused, which creates an unsightly appearance.
However, they help him to play better golf and that is all that matters!
Fans were reminded of his hands on Wednesday when the PGA Tour posted a photo ahead of the Par 3 Contest. It was actually captured at last year’s event, and shows Spieth on the green with his son.
His right hand is out in front with four fingers extended downward.
The visual is rather jarring. His knuckles are huge. His fingers are which creates the illusion that his fingers are bent awkwardly and crooked.
And it was not the first time that Spieth’s unusual-looking hands caused a stir.
His mangled fingers went viral on the Dan Patrick Show back in 2019. He explained that the calluses stem from the unusual way that he grips his club, and countless years of holding his club in that manner. They developed early on and only continued to grow over time. It is at the point that he cannot get rid of them, because it would cause even more issues and eventually come right back.
“I got kind of a weird grip and it just makes these calluses,” Spieth said. “And if I got rid of the calluses they would just blister up.”

There were a lot of concerns that Spieth is dealing with rheumatoid arthritis, which caused his knuckles to swell up. Others thought that he might have broken his fingers in the past and never got them set.
Fortunately, neither of those theories are true. Jordan Spieth isn’t dealing with any kind of issues that could hinder his ability to play. His hands are just calloused and look extremely weird!
