Josh Dobbs Can’t Find Locker Room In First Vikings Start, Uses Cheat Sheet To Learn Teammates’ Names

Josh Dobbs Vikings Locker Room

Josh Dobbs has not been with the Vikings long. The 28-year-old journeyman quarterback was traded from Arizona to Minnesota on Halloween after stints with Cleveland, Tennessee, Detroit, Pittsburgh and Jacksonville.

His time in the Twin Cities has lasted less than two weeks. He is still finding his way around and needed help finding the locker room during his first home game on Sunday.

Josh Dobbs was not supposed to play in last weekend’s game against the Falcons, but an early injury to Jaren Hall thrust him into the lineup pretty early on in the contest. Despite being with the team for less than a week and not knowing the names of his teammates, let alone the playbook, he led a comeback win.

It is his team moving forward.

Dobbs has been in Minneapolis for two weeks now. His first home game as a member of his new team came against the Saints this weekend.

The Vikings practice at the Twin Cities Orthopedics facility during the week. They play at U.S. Bank Stadium, which is located across town.

Dobbs had not spent any time at the latter. Minnesota was on the road during his first game.

His trip to U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday was his first.

As for the names of his teammates, Dobbs used a cheat sheet throughout the week. He walked around with a stack of headshots during the week and thinks that he’s firing at about an 80% clip on his the 13th day with the organization.

Dobbs’ journey has been unusual. Never before has a quarterback joined a team on a Tuesday and won a game on a Sunday. Now that he’s acclimated to U.S. Bank Stadium and his teammates, there’s a lot of hope that the Vikings can keep their momentum without Kirk Cousins!
