Josh Wariboko Doesn’t Know The ESPN Cameras Are Rolling Until Suddenly

National Signing Day is at a fever pitch right about now. Recruits are committing, schools are celebrating, Jim Mora is suddenly looking like a genius and this is a whole lot of hoopla for a high school kid to handle.

I’ve been watching the ESPN coverage of National Signing Day with one eye (the other eye is playing Candy Crush) and this interview with the UCLA-bound Josh Wariboko cracked me the hell up.

Imagine having Reese Davis in your ear, a camera in your face, your mom (who looks like she’ll eventually be in a Campbell’s Soup commercial if this whole football thing works out ) sitting next to you and the entire sports world waiting to hear what you’re about to say. And waiting. And waiting. There’s a lot of waiting. The camera has been on Josh Wariboko for a long time, so long he’s probably forgotten it’s there so he’s not exactly paying attention when it’s his time to shine.

Watch Wariboko look left, look right, wait for it with mouth agape and suddenly “Oh, hello America!”

Nice recovery.
