Footage Of J.T. Barrett’s DUI Stop Shows Him Asking For Special Treatment Because He’s QB Of tOSU

It was only a matter of time until someone got their hands on J.T. Barrett’s DUI checkpoint footage from October 31st. If that name doesn’t ring a bell JT Barrett was the starting quarterback of The Ohio State University Buckeyes’ football team up until his DUI a few weeks ago. At the time J.T. Barrett was starting QB for Urban Meyer’s team the Buckeyes were ranked #1 in the nation (currently they are #3). Anyways, in the video below you can CLEARLY hear Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett dropping ‘there’s nothing you can do?’, asking for special treatment because he’s Urban Meyer’s prized quarterback

Urban Meyer has a LONG HISTORY of players getting arrested, so J.T. Barrett’s DUI has been making a ton of headlines due to speculation that Urban’s reverting back to his old ways of valuing on-field talent over arrests and misconduct….this video isn’t exactly doing Urban any favors….

TMZ reports:

During the stop, the officer says he could smell booze on Barrett’s breath — though J.T. insists he had NOTHING to drink that night.
Barrett is given several field sobriety tests — and does fairly well — but the cop is not convinced he’s 100% sober and arrests him.
That’s when Barrett plays the “don’t you know who I am?” card … saying, “I’m the quarterback of Ohio State … officer, there’s nothing you can do?”
The officer responds, “My intention is to not take you to jail. That’s about the best I can do for you.”
Once Barrett sits in the backseat of the cruiser, he begins to scream obscenities to himself … “F**K!!! F**K!!!”
Eventually, he tells cops that fellow OSU quarterback Cardale Jones will be picking him up … and the officers find that amusing.

I’m not yet willing to say that Urban Meyer is back to his old ways at Ohio State University, but watching J.T. Barrett ask for special treatment from a cop because he’s the Buckeyes starting QB makes me think a few things:

(1) ESPN loves Ohio State University so they’ll never cover this.
(2) Urban Meyer’s ONE WEEK SUSPENSION of J.T. Barrett was even more laughable now that we’ve seen this footage.
(3) The cops handled this appropriately, the school and Urban Meyer’s program did not.
(4) With this sense of entitlement floating around it won’t be long until we see a few more arrests of Ohio State players.
