Juju Smith-Schuster has had the chance to play for some of football’s best franchises over the course of his career.

His career started with the Pittsburgh Steelers while they were still one of the league’s most imposing offenses with Ben Rowthlisberger, Antonio Brown, and Le’Veon Bell.

When his time in Pittsburgh came to an end, he headed to Kansas City and got the chance to have Patrick Mahomes throwing him the ball.

After winning a Super Bowl with the Chiefs, Juju is now taking his talents to New England on a 3-year deal.

Today he revealed the reason he chose to join the Patriots.

Juju told 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Zolak and Bertrand that Bill Belichick was the reason he chose to play for the Pats.

To be honest, it was (Bill) Belichick, man. The guy, you know — just the want and the need. And the position that I can fill there really, really caught my attention. And…feeling wanted in a place where I played against, a head coach I have a lot of respect for.

It’s easy to see how playing for the coach with the 3rd most wins and the most Super Bowl wins in NFL history would be an appealing option.

With the move to New England, Juju Smith-Schuster will go from being a part a pass catching committee led by Travis Kelce to being the star of the Patriots’ passing game.

Mac Jones and the New England Patriots haven’t had a ton to work with at the position over the past couple of years.

Signing Juju could be the start of them turning things around for their passing attack.
