It takes a certain kind of person to reach the level of success Tom Brady was able to achieve in his lengthy NFL career.

Some would say he had tremendous focus. Some would say he had unbelievable drive. Others would just say he was insanely obsessed.

Those who fall into the latter camp had their opinions reinforced this week during Tom Brady’s former teammate Julian Edelman’s segment on The Pat McAfee Show.

“I love Alex,” Julian Edelman said during the show, referring to Alex Guerrero, Tom Brady’s trainer who was the recipient a lot of jokes during the recent roast and helped create the TB12 method of training.

“You know I would incorporate a lot of their stuff, their techniques, their body work, some of their dietician or whatever their diet restrictions. I would incorporate a lot of it.

“He is a smart guy, Alex Guerrero, I mean Tom believes anything he says and he play forever. So as a young player you have no
choice but like hey yeah I’m going to I’m going to believe him too.

“He could literally say, ‘Tom, if you eat this dog s— right here it’s gonna make you better,’ Tom would eat it. I’m not joking.”

Edelmen added, “When we say a machine and not human, it was unreal, bro,” referring to Tom Brady and his preparation.

“The guy was sitting, like, smell the chicken wings the night before the game while the offensive linemen are over there taking down chicken wings.

“You have the same food every pregame meal and there’d always be chicken wings and you’d see Tom just sit there, and you know he loved a chicken wing, but he had to use that mental toughness and that chin strength and just walk right by it, give it a smell only.

“He preaches the TB12 s— but he really does live it.”
