Deion Sanders decided to bench five-star quarterback Julian Lewis for Isaac Wilson during a loss to Baylor last weekend. Lewis’ aunt, who also happens to be the mother to one Antonio Cromartie’s 14 children, is out on Coach Prime.
She does not want him anywhere near her son in Tallahassee!
Her view of college football is two-fold. Not only is she the aunt of Lewis, she is the mother to Cromartie Jr. Those two schools have indirect ties. They are both struggling.

Colorado worked hard to flip longtime USC commit Julian Lewis in the recruiting Class of 2025. The former four- or five-star quarterback (depending on where you looked) was ranked as one of the top-10 players at his position and a top-100 player overall.
It was a huge win for the Buffaloes to get him to Boulder. It has not quite worked out the way they had hoped.
Lewis made two starts as a true freshman in 2025. He completed less than 60% of his passes, took 12 sacks and went 0-2. This season has not been much better. He completed less than 65% of his passes, took eight sacks and went 2-2 in the first four games.
There seems to be a disconnect between offensive coordinator Brennan Marion and his quarterback. Lewis is erratic under pressure and behind on his reads, struggles to push the ball downfield in the new ‘Go-Go’ system, and often drifts backward in the pocket instead of using his athleticism to create plays.
Lewis completed just 11 of 16 passes for 75 yards during the first half against Baylor on Saturday. Deion Sanders benched him at the break.
Isaac Wilson, the younger brother of NFL quarterback Zach Wilson (and son of Lisa!), completed 12 passes for 156 yards and one touchdown during the second half. Colorado lost by 10. It was a bad loss.
Now, as the Buffaloes turn their focus to No. 13-ranked Utah, Coach Prime has yet to name a starting quarterback. It could be Lewis. It could be Wilson. We’ll find out during the first offensive series.

Deion Sanders gave a weird press conference on Tuesday. Not only did the head coach refuse to name a starter, he talked in circles around the position. He also revealed that he had not talked to Lewis about the possibility of a change, only to Wilson. He also gave praise to the latter but not to the former.
That did not go over well with Julian Lewis’ aunt, Dr. Erin Wilson. Wilson is also the mother to legendary NFL defensive back Antonio Cromartie’s son, Antonio Cromartie Jr. Her son grew up playing football with Julian Lewis in Carrollton, Georgia. (She is not related to Isaac Wilson or his family.)
To be complete honest, I originally thought it was a “family through friendship” situation. Wilson and Lewis’ father often use the term “sister” on social media. I thought it was playful banter.
She also referred to Julian as “nephew,” which is fairly common vernacular.
Lewis’ dad is close with Cromartie’s mom.
However, it seems like Dr. Erin Wilson is actually the sister of Julian Lewis’ dad!
I digress. Dr. Erin Wilson is fed up with Deion Sanders.
She called him a “character” on social media and agreed with a fan who said that Coach Prime is “going out sad” even though “nothing surprises her anymore.” She also said that “everything he does is a performance” and said that she NEVER wants him to be the head coach at Florida State— where Cromartie Jr. is on the roster.
Mike Norvell is probably going to get fired by the Seminoles. Julian Lewis’ aunt does not want Deion Sanders to replace him!
