A pair of the top golfers in the world, Justin Thomas and Max Homa, headed to South Africa to compete in the Nedbank Golf Challenge which begins on 11/9. Thomas, Homa, and their wives smartly opted to add a few days onto the long trip to South Africa and spend some time on safari before competing in the Nedbank Challenge.

Max Homa, who is arguably the best PGA Tour golfer when it comes to social media, shared videos of Justin Thomas channeling his inner Steve Irwin only JT appears to be clueless when it comes to identifying animal tracks. The PGA Tour shared Homa’s video of Justin Thomas and it’s taken off on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The golf world loved the clip. One person replied to the PGA Tour’s video to say “JT needs to call Leo DiCaprio to get the South African accent down proper……then he can become the safari guide.” Another joked “He lasts 3 days in the wild. Tops.”

Justin also shared photos from their safari:

On November 1st, Max Homa tweeted “South Africa bound for the @AfricasMajor. Long trip upcoming but excited to play some #golf outside of the US and experience some new things. I know they’ve got lots of lions over there. Here’s to hoping they haven’t scared away the birdies.”

That event begins this week on Thursday, November 9th. In addition to Justin Thomas and Max Homa, Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose are expected to see it up in South Africa on Thursday. The winner will take home $1.025 million with a total purse of $6 million.
