REPORT: Justin Timberlake To Headline Super Bowl Halftime Show, Britney Spears Wants To Join

Your Super Bowl halftime show entertainment is expected to be the one and only Justin Timberlake according to a report by Variety. The NFL originally offered Jay-Z the gig but he turned it down and they have since set their sights on Timberlake. Allegedly, JT and the NFL are on the one-yard-line and about to finalize the deal for the 10-time Grammy winner to perform at Super Bowl LII (That’s Super Bowl 52 for those of you not well-versed in Roman numerals). Timberlake makes sense since he had enormous success with NSYNC, and as a solo artist has been a hit machine that has churned out 18 top 10 hits on his own.

This, of course, would not be Timberlake’s first time performing at the Super Bowl. Who could forget his performance at Super Bowl XXXVIII (That’s Super Bowl 38) back on February 1, 2004, at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas? That is where he performed with Janet Jackson and ripped part of her shirt off, exposing her bare breast. Since then, the Federal Communications Commission has instituted numerous restrictions for television networks broadcasting live. Now 14 years after Nipplegate, all may be forgiven and Timberlake could perform at this season’s Super Bowl on February 4, 2018, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

After the report that JT would be the Super Bowl halftime performer, there was another report that Britney Spears would be thrilled to join Justin at Super Bowl LII. “The rumors of Justin doing the halftime show are true but they are definitely not finalized yet and one person that would love to join him on stage is Britney Spears,” a source told Hollywood Life. “She originally wanted to do the halftime show herself, but things didn’t work out. Britney wants to bury the hatchet with Justin once and for all, and perform a song with him during the Super Bowl halftime show. She loved doing it the first time when NSYNC joined her, Nelly and Aerosmith at Super Bowl 35! She thinks that it would be epic!” He wouldn’t do it again, would he?
