Just when you thought selfies couldn’t wedge their way deeper into the fabric of society, something like this goes and happens.
The Kalamazoo Growlers, a summer league baseball team, is soliciting photos of fans for an all-selfie jersey to be worn on “Salute to Selfies” night on June 24. A fan’s prominence on the uniform collage will be determined by how much “Growlers spirit” they exhibit — not their general attractiveness.
Look, this isn’t the worst jersey-based idea we’ve ever heard. After all, here we are thinking about the Kalamazoo Growlers, a team we didn’t even know existed until yesterday. Mission accomplished. But there is a very real chance someone is going to slip some nudity past the sensors.
