Last night’s American League Wildcard game between the Oakland A’s and Kansas City Royals was a non-stop thrill ride, a back-and-forth affair that crept into the night and ended in dramatic fashion with Salvador Perez’s walk-off single.
The crowd at Kaufmann Stadium was raucous and helped propel the home team back from a four-run deficit and into the American League Division Series against the Los Angeles Angels.
Except a select few, who used the memorable night as a time to catch up on their sleep.

Damn. It’s not that I want to further shame these people. Especially not the guy in reasonable seats. He hardly deserves to have his moment of slumber posted on the internet. But the fella with prime seats right behind home plate? I am prepared to go all-in on that chump.
With great privilege comes great responsibility. And when you sit behind the dish at a winner-take-all game, you have to — have to — stay awake. Dozing off is the equivalent of waving at the center field camera for nine innings.
Tighten it up, Royals fans. Inexperience is no excuse.
